Why is nitrogen needed in the HVAC system?
MVS Engineering offers PSA Type nitrogen generators that can be installed and used at the manufacturing units of air conditioners, Refrigerators etc. This onsite plant supplies an adequate amount of nitrogen for Leak test of HVAC systems, which is used for the following purposes:
• Nitrogen is mainly essential to block atmospheric oxygen from forming oxides within the coils of the HVAC system. These oxides can result in damaging the compressor of the air conditioner, due to which the system will stop functioning.
• Nitrogen replaces oxygen in the air trapped within the system, and it prevents the oxidation of copper coils. It also drives out atmospheric moisture, leading to the prevention of rusting of metal parts.
• A large volume of nitrogen is used to pressurize the coils and AC lines and check for leakage before packing an HVAC system. The inertness and easy availability of this gas are the reasons to use it for this purpose.
